Powered converters are designed for use in towing situations where the tow vehicle's wiring is insufficient to support the demands of the trailer. These converters draw current directly from the tow vehicle's battery preventing the additional load of the trailer's lights from interfering with the tow vehicle's computer, lamp out sensors or other sensitive electronics.
